Teacher Preparation at Georgia State
Georgia State’s mission is to prepare educators who are informed by research, knowledge and reflective practice; empowered to serve as change agents; committed to and respectful of all learners; and engaged with learners, their families, schools, and local and global communities.
Woodrow Wilson Teaching Fellows will take a one-year (12 to 15-month) certification and Masters of Art in Teaching (M.A.T.) program in Mathematics or Science through the College of Education’s Department of Middle and Secondary Education. Areas of focus include mathematics, broad field science, biology, chemistry, earth science and physics.
Upon completion, Fellows make a commitment to teach for a minimum of three years in high-need schools. Fellows will also have two mentors in their first three years of teaching – a mentor teacher from the school where they are placed and another mentor from Georgia State. More information.
