About Grand Valley State University
Allendale, Michigan is home to Grand Valley State University's main campus, established in 1960, situated on 1,280 acres 12 miles west of Grand Rapids. Most graduate education courses are offered at the university's Robert C. Pew Campus in Grand Rapids. Additional courses are offered on the Meijer Campus in Holland, and through centers at Muskegon and Traverse City established in cooperation with local community colleges. Grand Valley offers more than 200 areas of study, including 77 undergraduate majors and 28 graduate programs. Teaching in the liberal tradition, whether in general arts and sciences or the professional degree programs, has always been at the heart of Grand Valley's educational mission. Approximately 24,000 students attend GVSU on a full or part-time basis.
Teacher Preparation at GVSU
The GVSU College of Education is known for leading-edge programs and supportive, experienced faculty who have strong relationships with West Michigan schools. Our teacher education programs are accredited by the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education and the Michigan Department of Education. The College of Education is GVSU's largest graduate school and offers 28 major/minor programs. These undergraduate and graduate programs lead to Michigan provisional certification, graduate degrees, professional certification, 
certificate renewal, endorsements and approvals.

Schools/Districts Working With GVSU
Grand Valley State University is partnering with three school districts located in West Michigan including the Grand Rapids Public Schools (20,300 students) in Grand Rapids, Godfrey-Lee Public Schools (1,749 students) in Wyoming, and Muskegon Public Schools (5,908 students) in Muskegon.
All three districts are actively involved with GVSU in developing an outstanding teacher preparation program for Fellows and are committed to working together with Grand Valley to strengthen their pool of secondary mathematics and science teachers to continue to serve the children and families of their districts.
